Die Route führt Sie durch eine wunderschöne Region Ostkroatiens entlang der Flüsse Donau und Drau. In Kroatien beginnt die Strecke in Duboševica, von wo aus Sie durch die schöne Region des Naturparks Kopački Rit radeln - eines der wichtigsten, größten und attraktivsten intakten Feuchtgebiete Europas.

Die Route wird Sie in die Geschichte der größeren Städte wie Osijek oder Vukovar und deren Gastronomie eintauchen lassen. Die Gastfreundschaft der lokalen Bevölkerung garantiert eine entspannende und unterhaltsame Radtour. Die Strecke ist völlig flach und führt an vielen natürlichen, kulturellen und historischen Sehenswürdigkeiten Ostkroatiens vorbei. In Ilok führt EuroVelo 6 nach Serbien. Die Route ist gut ausgebaut.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel und Fahrräder in Kroatien

In Kroatien bieten neue Züge, sowohl Regional- als auch InterCity-Züge, viel Platz für Fahrräder. Bei älteren Zügen ist die Situation anders. Die nationale kroatische Bahngesellschaft Hrvatske željeznice (HŽ) bietet die Möglichkeit, Fahrräder in allen Zügen als Gepäck zu transportieren. Dazu müssen Reisende die Fahrräder demontieren und verpacken, um sie im Fahrgastraum oder in einem speziell dafür vorgesehenen Bereich für Gepäck unterzubringen. Fahrräder können in bestimmten Zügen transportiert werden, die über einen Wagen mit einem dafür vorgesehenen Platz für (bis zu 10) Fahrräder verfügen. Eine Liste dieser Züge finden Sie hier. Die Fahrradmitnahmegebühr auf allen internationalen Strecken beträgt umgerechnet fünf Euro, und die Tickets lassen sich wie Bahntickets am internationalen Ticketschalter erwerben. Der Preis für den Transport eines Fahrrads in Kroatien beträgt 15 Kuna, unabhängig von der Entfernung in Kilometern.

Der Transport von Fahrrädern mit Bussen ist ebenfalls möglich. Dazu gehören Flixbus (www.flixbus.hr), Autotrans Rijeka für den Transport zur Insel Brač (www.autotrans.hr) und die Buslinien von ZET in der Stadt Zagreb (Nummern 102, 103 und 105) zum Naturpark Medvednica und zum Gipfel von Sljeme.

EuroVelo Certified routes are the best options for beginners!

Developed routes with signs are suitable for most cyclists. However, short stretches with lower-quality conditions may occur, and it is recommended to bring a map or navigation app as signs can have defects.
